A leading broker has warned that sports clubs face closure due to an unwillingness among Insurers to offer liability cover to those that have suffered claims.
Members clubs benefit from the principle that members generally cannot sue their own club for injury (members ARE the club, and so you would be effectively suing ‘yourself’). There are exceptions to that principle. Visitors’, neighbours and members of visiting clubs can sue.
